Near-field communication (NFC) is a set of communication protocols for communication between two electronic devices over a very short distance.
Resco Mobile CRM supports registering of NFC broadcast intents.
Prerequisites
- Android versions of Resco mobile apps
- Android devices that support NFC
Use cases
Whenever you initiate barcode scanning in the app, the app also starts registering NFC broadcast intents. For example, this can be used to provide effortless login to Resco mobile apps (e.g. an NFC tag attached to a uniform or equipment of a service technician) without revealing any access credentials.
Barcode is also one of the question types available for forms and questionnaires in Resco Inspections. Inspectors can then fill in such questions simply by holding their phones close to the NFC devices.
Other use cases of barcode scanning that also apply to NFC are:
- on a form, save a value from NPC to a field
- on a view, find the record using input from NFC
